Show notes

Whenever change occurs in my life, something is always lost when something is gained. To prosper, my old beliefs about money must be removed. To heal, my belief in illness needs to be cast aside. To receive love, my feeling of being unloved must disappear. In disappearing the old, I create space for the new.

Show notes

I know that I was once a child. When I became an adult, I set aside childish things. But I do not need to loose my childlike joy and innocence. I learn from the children how to laugh, how to trust, how to play and how to imagine. I let them remind me that age is only a state of mind.

Revisiting Naked on the Internet

My book Naked on the Internet: Hookups, Downloads, and Cashing In On Internet Sexploration was published by Seal Press in 2007. This session will include a panel with some of the women I interviewed for the book; we will discuss what has changed and stayed the same in past two years. Questions include: How has the sense of community in online sexual networks changed since 2007? How have new technologies, applications, and websites (like Tumblr and Twitter) shifted the ways we think about sex online? How have shifts in law enforcement like crackdowns on online prostitution, arrests of teens for making child porn, and the obscenity trials of pornographers affected sex online?

Show notes

This is a huge episode with three separate interviews packed into a little over 40 minutes, all centered around chickens!

Part one features Barry Peavey, chairman of the Fitzgerald Wild Chicken Festival, and Winfred Tucker, who runs the Chicken House. We discuss the wild chickens which roam the streets of downtown Fitzgerald and the festival created to honor them.

In part two, we interview Stephanie Van Parys, executive director of the Oakhurst Community Garden about the Garden's history and the chickens kept there.

And in the final part we ask the Chicken Whisperer Andy Schneider about the Atlanta Pet Chicken Meet-up and his recent Chicken Stimulus Package event, among other topics.

Something that comes up in all three interviews is the idea of keeping chickens in the back yard, which is something Amber and I have been interested in. Listen in for some different perspectives on why that may or may not be a good idea, and for a lot of other chicken-related information.

When you're done listening to the podcast, be sure to also check out a short video I shot of some of the wild chickens in Fitzgerald.

We love voicemail! Leave us one by calling 678.389.9441. You can also follow me on Twitter here, and Amber here.

The resurrection is not an event that happened to one person thousands of years ago. It is a revelation that death is an illusion and that our rebirth is always assured. In the Easter story, every person in the story represents a part of me. We are all raised up when we recognize the greater Truth of our being.

There is nothing wrong with sex or sexual desire, as long as it is expressed in a joyful and loving way that harms no one. I am a sexual being, and my sexuality is unique to me. I do not allow anyone to make me feel guilty for what I think or feel. Instead, I am grateful for the gift that my heart expresses through my body.
