Show notes

This is the fourth and final Cast Podcast for A Midsummer Night's Dream. Actors are so busy and it is difficult to keep them in one place long enough to share a few words. And so, in this Cast Podcast, we offer a little insight into the thoughts and motivations of two mighty Tinkers and a couple best described as Forces of Nature.

This cast podcast features ...
Steve
Larry, Jr
Sara
and Zip

Music for this podcast is a track called "It Was 1972" by Lasswell, an artist on CCMixter.org (available via Creative Commons). Given that we set our Midsummer in 1973, it just seemed appropriate.

Finally, on the eve of auditions for our next show, we're posting our last Cast Podcast for Midsummer. And even then, there were a handful of very talented actors who slipped through our grasp without recording their own contribution! But rest assured that we couldn't have done our original show without the talented efforts of Sherry, Julia and Scott. We'd also like to thank Patrick, Elizabeth and Wendy for stepping in for our re-staging of Midsummer in Lawrenceville.

Also ... auditions for our next production, Romeo and Juliet (our first tragedy!), are scheduled for tomorrow! For more information, please check out the R&J audition page.

The show has closed. Twice. But with a cast so large, the Midsummer cast podcasts just keep coming. In this episode, Nikki and Alyssa chat with another fairy, a tinker and a particular Puck.

Olivia
Katy
and Cece

This episode's music is "Skullcrusher Mountain" by Jonathan Coulton, made available for use in our podcast via Creative Commons.

Show notes

Under normal circumstances, we'd be at that relaxing post-show phase, putting away costumes and preparing for the fall. But Midsummer is not over just yet, as NFDC has been invited to participate in next month's Gwinnett County Community Theatre Festival! So if you missed us on the lawn at Barrington Hall, come to Lawrenceville in June to see us do something we've never done: Perform Indoors!

In our 16th episode, the small (but determined) Shakespearian army marches on with the second of four or five cast podcasts for A Midsummer Night's Dream.

This cast podcast features ...

Dawn
Leah
Jim
Ilene
Ben
... and some other familiar voices

This episode's music is "Driving Blind" by Christina Abbott, made available for use in our podcast by the artist. (Thank you, Christina.)

Christina's music can be found online at Amie Street.

Show notes

1 of 4?!? That's right. This cast is huge, like a small Shakespearean army! So we're splitting the always excellent cast podcast into four different episodes, each one with a different set of actors.

North Fulton Drama Club's production of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream will close on May 17, 2008. But fear not, as we will be re-staging Midsummer for the Gwinnett County Community Theatre Festival in June! For more information about our remaining shows or the Festival, so please visit the NFDC blog.

And... we're back!

It's been far too long since our last official NFDC Podcast -- though we've been a recurring feature on the Atlanta Performs podcasts (Thanks, Joe!) -- but don't think for a minute that we haven't been busy. Far from it.

In fact, we've been so busy that we had to record this podcast over the course of two nights' rehearsals. Basically, we went about our business and left the recorder running. The results? Better than you might expect, if perhaps a bit manic.

Topics covered during this podcast include (and are not limited to) casseroles, table blocking, Barbies, Project Runway, NPR, obscure stitching terms ... and quite a bit about our upcoming show, A Midsummer Night's Dream. Along the way, you'll meet a few of our cast members either in conversation or by eavesdropping on a rehearsal.

North Fulton Drama Club's production of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream will open on May 2, 2008. For more information about the location, show-times and even how to reserve a table, so please visit the NFDC blog.

The Many Firsts of "Merry Wives" - Episode 13

Show notes

Merry Wives Of Windsor was a show full of Firsts for North Fulton Drama Club. We discuss them all, while finding time to talk about a host of other relatively interesting topics. As is usual for our post-show podcasts, we give out a few Thank Yous and tell a couple of stories. And this time, we've got some rather good news about the steps we're taking toward becoming "real." We round it all out with a recap of an extracurricular story-telling event we hosted for Halloween.

North Fulton Drama Club's production of William Shakespeare's Merry Wives Of Windsor closed on October 13, 2007. Auditions for our next production will be held in February, so please visit the NFDC blog for more information.

NFDC Appears in the ACPA Podcast Again!

A couple days late to the punch, but we are once again featured on the Atlanta Coalition of Performing Arts Podcast. Check it out. This time we follow Freddie Ashley of Actor's Express, and apparently we talk about combatting ambient noise and probably also about how much we love our actors.

You'll have to listen to find out, wontcha?

Wrapping Up "Much Ado" - Episode 11

Show notes

Five shows were scheduled. Four and a half shows were presented. But in spite of show-threatening weather, Much Ado About Nothing was another success for NFDC. In this episode, we ramble on about anything and everything, like numbering our podcasts, deciphering vintage dress patterns, finding jazzed-up Shakespearean songs, dressing soldiers believably in department store clothing, and replacing irreplaceable actors without having an actual understudy. We round out our conversation by thanking our wonderful cast and welcoming the youngest member of our NFDC family.

North Fulton Drama Club's production of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing closed on May 12, 2007. Auditions for our next production will be held in July, so please visit the NFDC blog for more information.

Panel:

  • Alyssa Jackson, Assistant Director
  • Nikki Strickland, Producer
  • Thomas L. Strickland, Director
  • Dorie Turner, Actress ("Margaret" in Much Ado About Nothing)

This episode's bumper music is "Roses Of Picardy," performed by The Oscar Moore Trio. Provided courtesy of Rumblefish Music Licensing Store.

(And yes, we'll be finding new music soon. We promise.)

NFDC: One More Weekend for Much Ado

We've one more weekend in our two-week run, so if you missed your first three chances to see Much Ado About Nothing, never fear. The last two shows will be May 11 & 12 at historic Barrington Hall in Roswell, GA. Seating is at 7:30pm, "curtain" at 8:30pm.

Since we at NFDC can never leave well enough alone, we've set our tale just after World War II. The setting serves the story perfectly, not just for costumes and music, but plot as well. As this play opens, brave soldiers return home victorious, only to find themselves beset and besieged by love.

Our actors have worked very hard over the past few months, so come on out and support them this weekend. And if you haven't already, give a listen to their Cast Podcast.
