Two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Anthony Lewis was a columnist for The New York Times op-ed page from 1969 through 2001. In addition to his long and distinguished career with the Times, Mr. Lewis has been a lecturer on law at the Harvard Law School and a visiting professor at the Universities of California, Illinois, Oregon, and Arizona, and, since 1983, the James Madison Visiting Professor at Columbia University. His previous three books are Gideon's Trumpet, which has sold nearly a million copies in over forty years in print; Portrait of a Decade; and Make No Law: The Sullivan Case and the First Amendment. He lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Meredith Vieira sits atop the number one morning news program in America. She has had an extensive career in television news extending across three major networks, all while keeping the philosophy of "family first." After growing up in New England and graduating magna cum laude from Tufts University, Vieira began her journalism career at WORC radio in Worchester, MA. She accepted a series of positions until she made a leap to the CBS flagship station in New York. Vieira landed a plum job at 60 Minutes but decided to leave the program when her second child was born. Vieira then took a position with ABC, moving from a news-magazine show to The View. She was selected to replace Katie Couric on Today in 2006.

Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A, is listed in a "billionaire's club" with fellow Georgians Ann Cox Chambers, her nephew James Kennedy and Home Depot co-founders Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank. Born in Eatonton in 1921, he holds the distinction as the only native Georgian in this top ranking. Cathy opened his first restaurant in 1946 and has grown his fast-food empire based on Biblical principals. Even though the restaurants are not open on Sunday, Chick-fil-A ranks as the second-largest quick-serve chicken chain in the United States. Cathy is known for his benevolence through his WinShape® Foundation, which has given more than $23 million in scholarships to Chick-fil-A restaurant employees since 1973.

Tom Brokaw spoke to the Atlanta Press Club at the Commerce Club on Dec. 6. He is the author of four bestsellers: The Greatest Generation, The Greatest Generation Speaks, An Album of Memories and A Long Way from Home. A native of South Dakota, Tom Brokaw graduated from the University of South Dakota with a degree in political science. He began his journalism career in Omaha and Atlanta (as editor of the 11:00 p.m. news for WSB-TV) before joining NBC News in 1966. Brokaw was the White House correspondent for NBC News during Watergate, and from 1976 to 1981, he anchored Today on NBC. He was the sole anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw from 1983 to 2004. He has won every major award in broadcast journalism, including two DuPonts, a Peabody Award and several Emmys.
